Pharmacy
The Pharmacy Buyer coordinates all aspects of the pharmacy purchasing and inventory management of the

department to ensure that medication and supplies are acquired with primary consideration for patient safety, cost,

and compliance to hospital purchasing policies & contracts.

The Pharmacy Buyer has a direct reporting relationship to the Manager, Pharmacy, with a matrix reporting

relationship for pharmacy technician practice to the Director, Health Professions and Collaborative Practice.

The Pharmacy Buyer will perform all duties of a registered pharmacy technician, following the scope of practice

defined by the Ontario College of Pharmacists.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate of a Ministry of Colleges and Universities recognized and accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
  • Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (in good standing)
  • Minimum 5 years related experience (in an acute care hospital preferred)
  • Able to cope with day‐to‐day inventory problems and effectively problem solve
  • Able to organize time productively and meet deadlines, even with frequent interruptions
  • Able to effectively communicate with staff and vendor representatives in a friendly and professional manner
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work with mínimal supervision and in a team environment.
  • Ability to show accountability and attention to detail in the performance of all tasks

Salary Range:
$29.520 to 34.040
