  • Simulation Accreditation Lead
  • Sessional Faculty
    Faculty/Instructor Profile
  • This unique faculty position will be the lead for the simulation accreditation process for the School of Health and Wellness (SHW), with a focus on the nursing programs. The work will focus on planning, implementation, coordination, and organization of the Simulation Centre becoming accredited.
    Position Responsibilities
  • Develop a selfstudy and compile evidence of meeting core measures for the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) accreditation for the SHW.
  • In collaboration with the SHW leadership team, lead SSH accreditation selfstudy writing, data surveys, and site visits with the Associate Dean.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data related to the simulation program's standards.
  • Coordinate the evaluation of current simulation procedures, policies, and strategic plans and their alignment with SSH Accreditation Standards.
  • Present necessary data in accordance with required timeline for accreditation.
  • Develop and lead a Simulation Accreditation Project team resulting in Simulation Accreditation with SSCH Feb 202
  • Participating in School and Polytechnicwide initiatives and/or committees.
  • Upholding the Professional Responsibilities of Faculty at RDP, which are described within the Faculty Performance Policy. Demonstrating and promoting RDP organizational values and following RDP policies and practices.
    Required Qualifications
  • Regulated nurse (LPN or RN) with a cognate degree.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Current professional registration [with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) or the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)]
  • A minimum of five years of recent simulation delivery and facilitation experience
  • Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for teaching, ability to inspire students, and commitment to student learning and success
  • Proven ability and experience leading projects and teams
  • Ability to work effectively in a variety of team environments
  • Proven commitment to continuous learning and reflective practice
  • Experience teaching in a postsecondary environment with a strong understanding of curriculum, course outcomes for at least one of the nursing programs (BScN and/or LPN)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • A satisfactory Criminal Record Check in accordance with the Polytechnic's Criminal Record Check policy Current immunizations as outlined in current RDP policies and requirements

  • This role is classified as a Sessional Instructor. This translates to a faculty member with a full workload who is employed with a contract of 4 four months or more and not exceeding one 1 year. This position will hold a contract for
