Ophthalmologist Visiting Specialist at Cold Lake
Join the team at Alberta Health Services - North Zone and the community of Cold Lake in their search for an Ophthalmologist Visiting Specialist. This role involves working closely with local physicians to deliver Ophthalmology consults and procedures.
The ideal candidate will make approximately 14 visits per year, spending 2-3 consecutive days per visit in the community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Obtaining and maintaining an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and necessary privileges
- Collaborating with peers and the care team to enhance patient care
- Possessing a current Alberta Practice Permit and RCPSC certification
- Demonstrating recent and relevant experience as a Most Responsible Physician

Compensation: This role operates on a Fee for Service basis as per the Outreach and Travelling Physician Support Policy. Visiting Specialists can benefit from financial incentives, including payments for travel exceeding 50kms.
Zonal Medical Affairs will provide reimbursements for mileage, car rentals, meals, flights, and accommodation in adherence to the AHS Travel Policy.
