Job Description:
Aecom Mississauga is hiring a Highway Inspector.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
- Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.
- Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
- Tracks quality assurance progress.
- Read and understand the relevant project drawings
- Visit the construction site, check for issues and record findings
- Use online site inspection reporting and collaboration software, generate and upload e-Reports
- Record and report any non-compliances outlining the findings of any incomplete work; discrepancy or inconsistency with intended dimensions, materials or finishes; substandard performance or failures; or other non-compliances and or nonconformances.
- Develop and maintain Excel sheets on relevant site information related to his/her scope
- Assist in the preparation of the daily, weekly and monthly reports
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by AECOM's site lead
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Highschool 4 years of relevant experience in Civil Engineering construction or Diploma/Certificate 2 YORE
- Proficiency in Excel
- Valid G Driving License and access to personal vehicle
- Minimum two (2) MOT or Municipal projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ideally 5 years of relevant experience in general highway construction experience
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage staff during parallel daytime and nighttime shifts.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Road Construction Senior Inspector (rcsi) designation is an asset
- Ability to generate reports
