Our reputation for quality workmanship and our ability to respond quickly to clients' lead times, keeps our 75,000 square foot manufacturing plant busy.

This position requires a working knowledge of Welding, Fabrication, Manual and CNC machining techniques.

Skills/Abilities include:

  • Excellent knowledge of welding methods and processes
  • Must be proficient with interpreting drawings and GD & T for machining processes
  • Proven track record of solving complex problems using a variety of techniques
  • Able to communicate issues and instructions clearly, efficiently and in a constructive manner
  • Ability to monitor and execute multiple projects in parallel
  • Working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, as well as industry best practices
  • Proficient in supporting and coaching employees to achieve their full potential

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure employees are working safely, efficiently and producing quality product
  • Orientate and train employees, develop personal growth opportunities
  • Oversee daytoday operations in collaboration with lead hands and management
  • Monitor jobs for Quality/Delivery/Cost, highlight potential issues and appraise results
  • Maintain strong communication with Employees, Management, Engineering and Quality
  • Implement cost reductions, initiate and foster a spirit of continuous improvement and LEAN manufacturing within and between departments
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge, benchmark machine shop best practices
  • Provide technical support to staff when required

Experience with:

  • Supervising employees in a fastpaced environment
  • Scheduling multiple jobs and work centres to meet customer delivery
  • CNC Machining Programming experience would be an asset
  • Welding/Machining large products for Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Naval or similar

Salary:
$100,000 / year - Depending on experience
