The Rural Municipality of Wallace-Woodworth is seeking a motivated individual for the permanent full-time position of Utility Manager.
The Utility Manager reports to the Chief Administrative Officer. The Utility Manager will be responsible for the supervision of all Utility personnel; safety and training programs; water line and plant maintenance; construction and expansion. In addition, the Utility Manager will assist in the development and implementation of policies, programs, and capital plans related to the Municipal Utility.
Skills and Qualifications
High school graduate at minimum or equivalent
Manitoba Environment and Climate Change Certifications (required):
o Class II: Water Treatment and Water Distribution
o Class I: Wastewater Treatment and Wastewater Collection
Holds a valid Class 5.0 Driver?s License
Must have five to ten years of experience working on water and wastewater systems
Strong organizational, leadership, and supervisory abilities
Ability to manage operations, assets and people in a cost effective and customer service-oriented manner
Ability to manage, train, motivate, evaluate, and supervise employees
Able to work shifts and on call weekends
Proficient with computer applications ? Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
Computer experience in GPS equipment, ArcMap software, GIS data collection, and Google earth is an asset
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and thoroughness are required
Any mechanical trades experience or mechanical work experience would be considered an asset
Physically capable of walking through rough terrain
