The IT / Storage Specialist must have the following skills to support GlassHouse Post Sale projects as
well as Managed Services customers.
Skills
- Proven experience on fibre channel attached enterprise storage arrays (especially IBM)
- Proven experience on SAN switching infrastructure (Cisco MDS and Brocade)
- Proven experience on at least one of these backup products: TSM/Spectrum Protect, Rubrik, Cohesity,
- Possess fundamental data protection storage knowledge, including concepts like RAID, data
- Ability to troubleshoot enterprise IT infrastructure, including ticket creation and management with
- Possess fundamental data benchmarking/analysis knowledge, including understanding IOPS, MBs
- Capable of provisioning storage from centralized arrays all the way up to the VM level
- Familiarity with virtualization infrastructure, especially VMWare
- Perform the implementation, administration, upgrade, infrastructure, and data migrations.
- Creating zoning on both Cisco MDS and Brocade fibre channel switches (aliases, zones, zone
- Creating host definitions, LUNs, and LUN mappings on storage array (especially IBM Flash
- Creating datastores with presented LUN.
- Capable of creating accurate statements of work and estimated service effort based on
- Maintain and troubleshoot data storage systems, and provide input for capacity planning
Other Responsibilities
- Post-sale technical support, conducting product training, issue identification and resolution, and ownership of
- Demonstrate technical leadership through teaching, coaching, and supporting other team members, fostering
- Effective collaboration with customer cross-functional teams, technical and sales staff, project management,
- Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions within the team to ensure a comprehensive understanding of systems
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of internal knowledge repositories.
- Actively contribute within the team and GHS through tangible contributions to process development, quality
- Achieve and maintain advanced certifications in the products and technologies assigned to you
- 5+ years of experience in Implementation, Operations and Support of SAN, NAS, and other storage solutions
- Working knowledge of IBM hardware, tape libraries, Virtual Tape Libraries (VTL)
- Proficiency in performing installation and upgrades.
- Experience working with SAN switches: zoning, storage pools, volumes, and mappings.
- Basic system security and networking concepts
- Ability to create and maintain documentation.
- Manage time and effort to effectively deliver on commitments, tracking time where necessary to fulfill services
- Industry-related courses and certifications such as VMware VCP, LPIC, RHCSA/RHCSE or similar qualifications,
