Position Overview:

Working with the Vice President and Directors that lead our People & Culture Team, the

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Vice President and other P&C Leaders to drive positive results as we launch new AutoCanada operating processes and policies throughout various departments, dealerships, and service centres operating in the North American market
  • Maintains records of personnelrelated data, in both paper and electronic format, to ensure all employment and recordretention requirements are met by the Company
  • Build and/or modify reports to track all LOA's due to FML, disability, etc; This will include working with outside vendors to ensure we are in compliance and adhere to any necessary RTW documentation provided by the AutoCanada team member
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain the overall P&C team's agenda, including working closely with the department Vice President to ensure they have the visibility and information required to provide oversight on major projects and initiatives which fall under their area of responsibility
  • Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, surveys, etc) and take minutes on behalf of the team
  • Conduct initial orientation for newly hired AutoCanada employees at the home office and coordinate offsite orientation for remote home office team members
  • Act as an L&D program coordinator, tracking the training and development of key employees operating at the Corporate or Region level
  • Build and maintain database for budgeting and cost centers; tracking department spend against the finalized 2024 budget
  • Coach and mentor other team members to perform in a manner consistent with AutoCanada's core values, sharing role specific information that will help them to better serve our clientele and the community we operate in
  • Other duties as assigned by People & Culture Leadership on an asneeded basis

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR Management required or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of current Canadian employment law matters, with a strong commitment to diversity management.
  • Ability to communicate throughout all levels of the organization with strong presentation, written, and verbal skills
  • French bilingual is helpful but not required
  • Ability to identify developmental needs of employees and provide leadership with coaching, mentoring, and disciplinary recommendations
  • Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to staff privacy and the ability to be politically and culturally sensitive to a diverse range of internal and external associates
  • Knowledge of principles, theories, and techniques related to job classification, job analysis, and job descriptions.
  • Attention to detail in all aspects of work, with the ability to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
  • Professional appearance and manners that are aligned with AutoCanada's core values and operational standards

Work Conditions:

  • Travel may be required within Canada and the United States to support Corporate or dealership HR initiatives on an as needed basis (Less than 20% of the time)
  • Dexterity to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, projector or other pieces of office equipment which may require repetitive hand, finger, leg, foot, and/or knee motion
  • Occasionally ascends and descends stairs when visiting offsite locations built prior to current newconstruction disability, accessibility requirements
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle when driving to offsite training, meetings, or AutoCanada dealerships
  • Overtime may be required when dealing with HR issues or projects that require a sense of urgency
  • Lifting or moving up items that weigh 10lbs or more may be required.
