Description
The Mortgage Consultant plays a proactive role in marketing and promoting financial products for Capital City Home Loans to meet set loan quality and production targets. Representing the company professionally and enthusiastically, the Mortgage Consultant focuses on delivering exceptional customer service and upholding core values in all job functions and interactions with clients.
In this ongoing sales position, the Mortgage Consultant consistently builds and maintains a strong network of business relationships to generate referrals for new mortgage opportunities. This network includes Real Estate professionals, Builders, personal and professional contacts, and other valuable sources, strengthened by active participation in business development activities, community initiatives promoting homeownership, and professional associations.
Responsively addressing customer inquiries and referrals, the Mortgage Consultant conducts thorough interviews with potential borrowers to assess financial and credit information, understand financing goals, explain product/pricing guidelines, and collect necessary details. Upholding high standards of customer service, the Mortgage Consultant keeps abreast of lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory mandates, demonstrating ethical conduct, compliance with Federal and State regulations, and adherence to HMDA requirements.
Qualifications
Experience/Education:
- Minimum of 1 year in residential mortgage lending with a focus on self-generated business.
- Proven network of referral sources, including Real Estate professionals and other influential connections.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge:
- Familiarity with product manuals and understanding of all company loan programs and their criteria.
- Up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local mortgage lending laws, regulations, and agency guidelines (FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, USDA, and VA).
Skills:
- Clear and effective communication skills for diverse audiences, both written and verbal.
- Strong time management abilities for multitasking and task prioritization.
- Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting complex financial data to provide suitable options.
- Solid computer proficiency.
- Professional and impactful interpersonal skills.
