Job description:
Currently our Head Office Team has an exciting opportunity available in our Finance and Accounting Department, as Internal Auditor.

Key Responsibilities:
- Undertaking internal audits to ensure the company meets its financial, operational and compliance objectives.
- Schedules and plans audits; initiates project planning, assess risk and develops audit direction.
- Keeps abreast of company policies and procedures, current developments in accounting and auditing professions, and changes in local, provincial, and federal laws, as applicable.
- Reporting on control deficiencies to management and making recommendations to mitigate risk and add value.
- Challenging current processes across the company and identify opportunities for refinement.
- Engaging remediation of identified issues through followup.
- Playing an active role in the maintenance and review of policies and procedures, including ensuring they are up to date with all legislation and best practices.
- Conduct ad hoc investigations into identified or reported risks and reduce business and financial loss.
- Communicating with a variety of stakeholders across the company.
Qualifications:
- Two to five years' experience performing audits, and exposure to risk assessment and audit planning.
- Ability to assess business processes for efficiency and value add.
- Attention to detail, organization, and timekeeping skills.
- The ability to keep calm under pressure, especially when there are tight deadlines.
- The ability to think objectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written should also be included in an Internal Auditor job description, as there will be ongoing communication with teams in other business units and the senior management team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Accounting degree/diploma. CPA designation is preferred.
