The Day Supports Manager position reports directly to the Director of Programs.

They will work closely with the individuals and teams to provide an environment that is focused on working with individuals to meet their desired goals, live a full and meaningful life and to live as independently as possible.


It is the responsibility of the Day Supports Manager for the day-to-day management of the Day Support programs across all regions.

With an emphasis on providing high quality support to the individuals served; the Day Supports Manager provides direct coaching and support to employees

Specific Accountabilities**
_ Multiple Location Oversight_

  • Through creative and efficient problem solving, develop and implement streamlined processes across programs in daytoday operations, administrative functions, and any staffing requirements.
  • Ensure effective and smooth operation of each location, including emergency preparedness, staffing, activity planning and logístical support.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Programs, the Administration Centre and your team to create and support an engaged, motivated, and efficient team.
  • Work within established guidelines to ensure scheduling requirements are met including effective and appropriate use of the relief pool.

_Supporting Day Support Programs_

  • Actively works to provide positive, consistent, and empowering support to supported individuals.
  • Through rolemodeling and leadership demonstrate the approach of PCAS to ensure that all people are fully participating in their lives.
  • Supporting individuals in achieving their chosen goals and experiencing success in their lives by providing skills and opportunities to develop and build their social / friend network, participate in their community, take part in local activities, obtain volunteer or paid employment, and learn skills associated with daily living.

_Leadership of Team_

  • Effectively lead your team to provide PCAS in a respectful and collaborative way while meeting CLS standards and requirements.
  • Accountable for the daytoday management of the team including, rolemodeling, coaching, mentoring, team building, recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Engage and motivate team members through adequate training and development opportunities to ensure all team members are effective in all aspects of their role.
  • Maintain an active inperson presence at each location; visiting Team Leads, Community Living Counsellors and Supported Individuals on a regular basis.

_Administrative_

  • Maintain and utilize required records and tools on Sharevision including any care plans, risk assessments, schedules, logs, goals, communication plans and other resources as required.
  • Work collaboratively to meet and maintain all standards, policies, procedures, and regulations relating to support, quality, and legal including, working with Accreditation, and monitoring bodies and adhering to CLS policies and procedures.

_Effective and Safe Operation at Locations_

  • Adhere to protocols and legislated requirements to ensure safe, welcoming, and wellrun locations for supported individuals.
  • Ensure that the locations meet legislated requirements while representing the individuals and fitting within the community ensuring the locations are clean and in good repair (i.e., equipment, furniture, maintenance, repairs, inspections, and renovations).
  • Maintain and support safe driving initiatives including implementing policy and procedures ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of vehicles.
  • Ensure the CLS Health and Safety Program is understood, adhered to, and implemented effectively including completion of documentation.
  • Ensure Team Leads and Community Living Counsellors are appropriately trained to manage emergencies and necessary supplies are available.

_Skills and Experience_

  • Minimum three years of experience supporting adults with disabilities in community inclusion and integration.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, proven leadership experience, counselling and coaching skills; crisis prevention and intervention; health care and mental health knowledge; Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training; Mandt System; strong computer, administration and organizational skills.
  • Significant knowledge and demonstrated excellence in Person Centred Active Supports concepts
