We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead the creation and implementation of the Black Youth Entrepreneurship Hub (BYEH) online portal for BLK OWNED.

As the Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in modernizing and adapting our organization by providing a centralized platform for young Black entrepreneurs to access resources, education, community building, and skill development.

This one-year contract position requires a commitment of 30 hours per week and offers a competitive pay rate of $28 to $30 per hour.


Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership:_ Take charge of the entire project lifecycle, from inception to completion, to create the BYEH online portal. Collaborate with crossfunctional teams and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Website Development:_ Oversee the design and development of the comprehensive BYEH online portal, ensuring it is userfriendly, accessible, and tailored specifically for Black entrepreneurs. Work closely with developers and designers to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Resource Curation:_ Work with the BLK OWNED Team to Identify, gather, and curate a wide range of resources relevant to Black entrepreneurs, including educational materials, business assistance programs, funding opportunities, and networking platforms.
  • Community Building_: Facilitate the development of a supportive and engaging community within the BYEH online portal. Implement strategies to encourage networking, collaboration, and knowledgesharing among Black youth entrepreneurs.
  • Fundraising and Relationship Building_: Assist in additional fundraising efforts to support the project's sustainability and growth. Build and nurture relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and partners to secure resources and sponsorships.
  • Timeline and Budget Management_: Create and manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring the project remains on track and within the allocated resources.
  • Risk Mitigation_: Identify potential project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies to minimize negative impacts on project progress and outcomes.
  • Reporting and Documentation_: Generate regular progress reports and maintain detailed project documentation to keep all stakeholders informed and ensure project transparency.
  • Quality Assurance_: Implement robust quality assurance processes to ensure the website's content, functionality, and overall performance meet high standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably in digital projects or web development, with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the entrepreneurial ecosystem and the challenges faced by Black business owners.
  • Experience in website development and content management systems.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with fundraising strategies and relationshipbuilding techniques.
  • A passion for supporting Black youth entrepreneurs and promoting inclusivity in the business community.
