Responsibilities:
- Follow a daily work schedule to provide inhome support to up to six participants per day with light housekeeping, vacuuming, dusting, laundry, washing floors, changing bed linens, general kitchen and bathroom cleaning and social support
- Observe and report changes in client condition and circumstances which may signal need for additional resources
- Provide emotional support to participants Attend training, inservice sessions and team meetings as required
Qualifications and Skills:
- High School Diploma
- Experience working with seniors and an understanding of their needs
- Commitment to service excellence, ability to maintain confidentiality and excellent personal and professional boundaries
- Experience in house cleaning is an asset
- Excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to remain calm and reassuring
- Strong interpersonal skills, combined with empathy and respect
- Strong organizational and decisionmaking skills, with ability to adapt to changing conditions Ability to work with mínimal supervision and open to receiving feedback
Conditions of Employment:
- Submission of a Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's licence and submission of a 5year Driver's Abstract with less than 7 demerits
- Ability to perform physical labour as part of the job duties and stand/walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift approximately 15kgs (33lbs) Will require reliable vehicle and willingness to travel rural
