Under the direction of the Production Department Management Team, this position will be responsible for co-ordinating opening cheese that has been stored for future use, laying it out for upcoming production, and completing associated documentation, in accordance with all Dairy procedures, safety and health regulations to provide superior work output.

This position has a flexible start, typically very early mornings, and shift hours will vary in order to meet the changing requirements of the production schedule.


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurately complete documentation.
  • Operate scales and thermometers with competence.
  • Safely operate Electric Carts as required (when proper training is provided)
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all required procedures and regulations to ensure quality and safety.
  • Utilize sanitation products in accordance with protocols.
  • Dispose of packaging products after task completion.
  • Assist with rolling or packing as required.
  • Communicate effectively with Supervisors, Lead Hands and other employees.
  • Maintain effective and positive communication between all team members.
  • Work in an efficient, timely, safe and productive manner at all times.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities including training of others.
  • Any other duties as required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Flexibility of hours when necessary. Able to work early mornings (2 am start times), or possible split shifts
  • Good partnership and written communication skills
  • Some work on statutory holidays and/ or weekends.
  • Good team player
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Comfortable bending, pushing and pulling, and regularly lifting weights up to 25 lb.
  • Able to work in ranges of temperature and humidity (including the Coolers and Tundra)
  • Safe handling of chemicals and proper use of PPE.

MINIMUM CRITERIA

  • Attention to detail.
  • Must have good attendance.
  • Must be able to follow SOP, GMP and complete forms accurately.
  • Must have a good and positive attitude towards change and other employees.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
