Job InformationLocated in the capitol city of the beautiful Northwest Territories, Yellowknife, surrounded by a landscape of rocks, tundra and various lakes. It sits on the Canadian Shield, on the north shore of Great Slave Lake, and about 400 km south of the Arctic Circle. The city is the traditional territory of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation and the most common Dene name for Yellowknife is "Somba K'e", which translates to "Where the money is."
The Relief Resident Care Coordinator (RRCC) is responsible for managing all health care functions for Long Term Care and Extended Care (LTC/EC) in Yellowknife (YK) Region after regular business hours. The RRCC is a member of the resident care team who uses the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation), in accordance with established standards of nursing practice and the philosophy and objectives of the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) to ensure that the residents' physical, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs are met.
Reporting to the Manager, the RRCC works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders in developing, implementing, and maintaining the highest standard of resident care and services in accordance with NTHSSA Mission, Vision, and Values.
To be considered for this role you will need to have successfully completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) and have ten (10) years of experience with five (5) of those years being in an LTC/EC setting.
