Major Duties:

Technical liaison between suppliers, design engineers and Supply Chain to achieve project and departmental goals and objectives

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Review vendor proposals and work with vendors to ensure the lowest cost compliant solution.
  • Research and develop strategic relationships with vendors that strengthen ATS' competitive edge.
  • In conjunction with Engineering and Applications, develop technical specifications for custom vendor equipment.
  • Maintain a focus on vendor technologies to enable lowcost design and facilitate a collaborative working relationship between design engineers and suppliers.
  • Establish and maintain the supply chain input to the Applications costing wizard.
  • Provide third party equipment content for proposals generated within the Applications group.
  • Research and source vendors for major 3rd party equipment required for each proposal.
  • Develop procurement strategies and the material plan for each proposal. These plans must focus on allowing ATS to provide the lowest cost compliant solution and its most competitive schedule.
  • Support the development of engineering design methodology from a Supply Chain perspective to ensure successful execution through the supply chain.
  • Maintain a preferred parts list and use it to drive selection of common parts and design features across multiple projects.
  • Develops proposals and provides design support related to construction of CSA B51 and CSA N285.0 pressure boundary components within the ATS Certificate of Authorization as required.
  • Strictly follow CSA N285/NQA Quality requirements as defined within the manual and procedures
  • Maintain regular product material cost metrics.
  • Adhere to all ISO procedures and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.

Qualifications:

Education:

A degree in engineering or an equivalent discipline; PMP certification is an asset

Experience:

  • A minimum of five years of engineering design experience in a custom manufacturing environment, preferably in a mechanical design role.
  • Sound working knowledge of Excel, Word and other MS Office software.
  • Ability to effectively manage large data files derived from ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Good analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to interact in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Good project management skills.
