The Engineer will:
- Work on structural projects for small, medium, and large institutional, commercial, and residential buildings, with the assistance of qualified senior engineers.
- Acts as a building structure design Engineer and may be entrusted with project manager tasks, depending on their abilities and skills, in small or medium-sized projects.
- Carry out studies and prepare reports, technical opinions, proposals, drawings, and specifications.
- Supervise the work of less experienced engineers, technicians, and drafters on projects under their responsibility.
- Determine construction costs and quantities, in accordance with standardized methods.
- Evaluate different materials or work processes and make appropriate recommendations.
- Participate in construction administration activities.
- Attend multidisciplinary technical meetings as required.
Qualifications
University Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with a focus on structural
Registered (or eligible to register as) member of Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field
In-depth knowledge of building structure codes and standards
In-depth knowledge of standards and calculation methods for structural steel, reinforced concrete, wood-frame design, and mass timber
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Strong skills in evaluation and structural analysis
Experienced with structural design software, as well as the MS Office suite
Expected Salary: $105,440 to $131,800
The expected salary for this position is from $105,440 to $131,800 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate's experience, training, skills, and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
