The Position:
In alignment with LutherCare Communities' Vision, Mission, and Values, we are actively seeking an enthusiastic Activity Coordinator to join our dynamic team.
This vital role involves planning, coordinating, conducting, and assisting tenants and staff with educational, social, recreational, and wellness needs, along with organizing various programs.
Flexibility is key, as hours of work may extend beyond regular day shifts, occasionally requiring evening or weekend shifts.Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Education
- Postsecondary experience in a related discipline (e.g., Therapeutic Recreation Diploma)
- Valid driver's license and clear driver's abstract
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience working effectively with seniors, preferably in a recreation programming capacity
- Excellent administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in word processing and spreadsheets, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and MS Publisher
- Sensitivity, patience, and concern in providing quality service to residents
- Positive adaptability to change and a proactive approach to quality improvement
- Effective collaboration with tenants, committees, contractors, and other departments of LCC
- Time and priority management skills with the ability to respond positively to multiple interruptions
- Independent work capability and initiativetaking
- Creativity in developing programs with limited resources
- Knowledge of principles of Gerontology
- Willingness to operate the transport bus
