As a member of the Engineering team, the CNC Technician reports to the CNC Team Leader. The CNC technician is responsible for set-up, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and other aspects of CNC machining within the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstration of 5S, cleanliness, and organizational skills in the work area, machines, automation, and properly identify setup and scrap parts for measuring and understanding process sheets.
- Proficient use of all gauging required to assess product quality, safety aspects of machines and automation cells, lockout/tagout, safe cell entry, handling of sharp tools, and ladder safety.
- Ability to check levels, fill all machine fluids, lubricate and grease chucks and fixtures, and load and unload production parts safely in various machines.
- Power machines up, home confirm program, and prepare the machine for operator to run production.
- Ability to use all machine controls such as single block, block delete, feed/rpm overrides, cycle start/stop, jog, handle, E-stop, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Numerical Control Machining Program Certificate or equivalent required
- Working knowledge of machining principles and practices with CNC controls and programming techniques
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry
- Mathematical and analytical skills
- Knowledge of conventional machine methods
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well independently or in a team environment
- Strong communication skills
- Good work ethic and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality
