Summary of Duties
Reporting to the onsite Coordinator/Supervisor, the Food Services Attendant works to provide City of London patrons with food and beverages in a safe and clean environment.
This position is responsible for preparing and serving meals, point of sale transactions, proper food rotation and providing excellent customer service.
Work Performed
- Set up and maintain food service areas to ensure cleanliness of tables and food service areas.
- Prepare and serve food and beverages.
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of food and beverages.
- Complete and accountable for all pointofsale transactions, daily balancing including associated paperwork.
- Review menus, suggest menu ideas and discuss inventory quantities with Food Services Coordinator.
- Ensure all cash handling is completed in an accurate manner.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and a positive and professional attitude when communicating with the public and coworkers.
- Demonstrate commitment to antiracism, antioppression, and human rights through practices and interactions with stakeholders, employees and individuals and support programs and initiatives that reflect this commitment.
- Demonstrate commitment and adherence to Health and Safety legislation and programs; actively promote a culture of safety.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience
- Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) (prior to the start of employment)
- Standard First Aid Certificate (prior to the start of employment)
- Safe Food Handling Certificate (prior to the start of employment)
- Smart Serve Certificate (prior to the start of employment)
- Kitchen experience is preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High level of comfort in fast paced public facing environments.
- Knowledge of Board of Health and Liquor regulations.
Compensation Range and Other Information
Wage:
$15.50 per hour
