Description
Currently, we are looking to add a skilled Backend Developer - Java to our dynamic team in Canada. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in Java development, AWS, and bonus points for Python skills. Typescript knowledge is a nice addition, but not mandatory for the role. Our company, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, operates remotely with EST working hours, but we welcome applicants from all Canadian provinces.

  • Proactive collaboration in the project team to contribute to developing high-quality software solutions
  • Ensure code quality, governance, and adherence to established patterns/designs
  • Participate in architecture planning, estimation, coding, and development tasks
  • Focus on codebase refactoring and continuous enhancements
  • Communicate technical decisions effectively within the global team
  • Take ownership of releases and provide support for live applications
  • Engage in software deployment and operations activities (DevOps)
  • Deliver professional conduct and satisfactory outcomes for customers

Requirements

  • Must be a former Amazon employee or contractor
  • Minimum 6 years of Java development experience
  • At least 4 years of experience with AWS cloud environment
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and scalable software services
  • Strong OOD and database modeling skills
  • Experience in client interaction and requirement refinement
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

Preferred qualifications

  • Typescript and Python experience
  • Knowledge of DDD and TDD principles
