The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:- Managing design projects from initial concept/enquiry through detailed design to manufacturing handover.
- Providing design input on projects and generate ideas for developments and new products.
- Small projects, or sub-sections or larger projects, produce engineering designs, specifications, and documentation to ISO 9001.
- Assisting in the preparation of operating and maintenance manuals.
- Offsite engineering support for new products.
- Assisting in the preparation of quotes and proposals, providing customer support, and training customer operating personnel.
- Provide technical support to the production, logistics, and integration departments.
- BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or related/equivalent subject.
- Suitable design experience.
- Technical competencies in areas such as structural analysis, mechanisms, hydraulics, assembly methods, inspection, testing, and certification requirements.
- Experience in ergonomics, tolerancing, limits and fits, and drawing layout and symbols.
- Desirable competencies include Finite Element Analysis
- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, and material science.
- Safety consciousness and attentiveness to QHS&E policies and regulations.
- Technical drawing competence.
