As the _Seasonal Technical Assistant_
you will:

  • Assist in the research, planning, development and implementation of waste management policies and diversion and recycling programs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of public engagement activities.

Your education and qualifications include:

  • Successful completion of at least 1 year of a recognized postsecondary program in Environmental Studies, City Planning, Public Administration, Environmental Design, Natural Resource Management, Science, Social Science, Civil/CAD Engineering Technology, or Engineering.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deliver and manage projects in a teambased environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, legal descriptions and plans.
  • Ability to carry out project work as directed and to prepare or complete required reports and records.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, external contacts and the public, in accordance with the Respectful Workplace Standard.

Conditions of employment:

  • The successful applicant must maintain legal eligibility to work in Canada. If the successful applicant possesses a work permit, it is their responsibility to ensure the permit remains valid.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver's Licence.
  • Must be physically capable of performing all the duties of this position, which may include, but are not limited to: working outdoors in potentially unfavorable weather conditions or for extended periods of time and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
