Our team's mission is to make Robinhood the best place to invest in equities. As a Backend Software Developer, you will have vast ownership over impactful products and backend services that power the Equities experience in the mobile and web applications.

Brokeback Infrastructure team

Our mission on the Brokeback Infrastructure team is to solve challenging technical and business problems with visionary and practical solutions. This team is dedicated to building a solid foundation for Robinhood Brokerage, ensuring outstanding reliability, extensibility, and maintainability. By leveraging innovative technologies, we address critical issues for our customers and the company, while gaining deep insights into Robinhood's core business.

Accounting platform team

Our mission on the Accounting Platform team is to build and maintain a horizontal layer of core accounting and account logics, enabling multiple engineering teams to develop new Brokerage features faster. This team tackles challenging technical and business problems with visionary and practical solutions, leveraging innovative technologies. By gaining insights into Robinhood's core business, we enhance our platform's capabilities.

What you'll do

Build scalable systems and components, making the right tradeoffs to account for stability and long-term maintainabilityDesign, write, test, and release platform or product-facing features with stringent correctness and scalability requirementsIdentify opportunities to improve system performance, team productivity, and reduce riskCollaborate closely and effectively with cross-functional partners, client teams, and vendors

What you bring

3+ years of software developer experienceYou have a track record of successfully collaborating with cross-functional teams and delivering large-scope technical projects, setting a high standard for code quality and code review processesYou deeply understand the design, product, and backend development disciplines so that you can work effectively with themExperience with Go or PythonExperience with Kafka and data streaming technologiesExperience with handling/processing large amounts of dataFamiliarity with other parts of the team's tech stack (Postgres, K8s, Redis, AWS or similar)Bonus Points: Experience at a fintech company or financial firm
