About the Organization:

Hospice Mississauga, a not-for-profit organization, offers assistance to individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses and end-of-life situations, serving over 1,500 people annually in Mississauga.

Our goal is to provide compassion, support, and advocacy to reduce the distress caused by terminal illness and loss on individuals, families, and the community.

Our range of support programs includes hospice counseling, spiritual care, children's program, Social Connections, health and wellness education, and bereavement support, and we are expanding to include in-patient hospice beds in our future Hospice Centre.

About the Role:

The Stewardship and Database Coordinator position involves maintaining the accuracy of the Customer Relations Management (CRM) database (Donor Perfect) by handling donor demographic information, gift records, and conducting market research analysis.

Additionally, responsibilities include implementing donor appreciation initiatives, such as customizing thank-you notes and producing tax receipts and reports from the donor database, following a defined recognition and stewardship plan.

This role requires conducting prospect research through various sources while ensuring donor and patient confidentiality.

The Coordinator will collaborate with fund development and finance teams for fund management and financial reconciliation.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Lead the team in managing our CRM system, including training on proper usage and interaction with consultants.
    • Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance following industry standards.
    • Manage donation processing and importing activities.
    • Develop and implement a well-defined donor journey in partnership with the fundraising team.
    • Contribute to enhancing donor relationships through effective stewardship strategies.
    • Perform prospect research, analyze results, and generate monthly reports.
    • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the donation process.
    • Maintain positive relations with donors, sponsors, and stakeholders.
    • Complete other assigned duties.

Qualifications and Experience:

2-4 years of relevant work experience or a combination of education and work background.
2-4 years of CRM experience, particularly with gift processing, receipting, moves management, and Donor Perfect.
Proven experience in donor relations and stewardship.
Knowledge of financial reconciliation and auditing processes.
Proficiency in data entry and Microsoft Office 365.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong work ethic, integrity, and initiative.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Independence and ability to work under pressure in a diverse environment.
Flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work.
Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
Understanding of the hospice palliative care sector is a bonus.
