Responsibilities and Duties of HCA
- . Carries out all routines and procedures to maintain a clean, safe and pleasant environment for the residents and co-workers.

  • Complies with the facility policies and procedures pertaining to the care of the residents.
  • Assists residents as necessary with Activities of Daily Living including bathing, personal hygiene, grooming, toileting and dressing.
  • Ensures residents of safe mobility ,as necessary.
  • Tends to laundry, housekeeping and food service duties as required and time permits.
  • Participates in group activities as time from giving care allows.
  • Provides residents with gentle, respectful, safe care at all times.
  • Builds trusting relationships with the residents.
  • Works together with other members of the team in a respectful, cooperative way.
  • Attends staff meetings and education and training programs as required.
  • Reports any concerns or observations accurately on the resident's health record and to co-workers.
  • Follows individual resident care plans. Needs to be aware of any residents with food allergies or sensitivities.

Requirements:

  • Previous caregiving experience is preferred
  • Being a BC Registered HCA is an asset
  • Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening Sector (less than 1 year old)
  • Negative TB Skin Test or Chest X Ray (less than 2 years old)
  • Must be able to speak and write in English. Other languages will be an asset
  • First Aid & CPR

Availability:

  • Give us your availability, and we can work out a schedule that works for you
