The Institute for Mental Health Policy Research
Position Description:
The Institute for Mental Health Policy Research, at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, is seeking a highly organized and conscientious individual for a casual contract Research Associate position.
You will assist with a research project relating to men's attitudes and beliefs regarding alcohol-related sexual harassment and aggression (ASHA) by men toward women in bars, which is being funded by the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR)
. This project will involve collecting data from young adults in bar districts.
Reporting to the Research Methods Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and implementing local data collection in a complex research project being conducted in London, Ontario.
Adhering to project protocols, responsibilities include:
organizing, carrying out, and overseeing local data collection, including participant recruitment, screening of potential participants for eligibility, ensuring quality control associated with data collection, monitoring adherence to safety and data confidentiality protocols; orienting and overseeing the work of local research assistants including scheduling work shifts; compiling and organizing data; and any other duties associated with the research as required.
Adherence to strict protocols for the protection of data privacy and confidentiality is required. You will be responsible for working independently while liaising regularly with the project team. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork, and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements. Work outdoors during the evenings and weekends will be required. Hours will vary from 5 hours per week up to 37.5 hours per week during peak periods. This position is located in London, Ontario; however, occasional travel to Toronto may be required.Qualifications:
Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
