business is growing, and we are looking for a Mechanical Technician, specialized in Controls for our many new energy efficiency projects.

Are you a technologist or engineer interested in cleantech? Do you want to get involved in the decarbonization of the real estate industry?


Under the supervision of the Construction Director (Ontario sites), the person in this position ensures proper planning and execution of controls installation for projects, whether remotely or locally on site.

He or she works closely with a team of experts in the field of energy efficiency.

Some supervision functions of the hardware installers are required in this role to ensure installation is as per KROME's specifications.

The technician shall also act as liaison with the design team at KROME.

Your responsibilities

  • Planning and monitoring of energy projects:
  • Understand and solve problems;
  • Participate in energy monitoring meetings;
  • Assist the grant monitoring team;
  • Plan control work with subcontractors (budgets, schedules, equipment selection);
  • Oversee and supervise subcontractors in controls as well as plumbing and electrical;
  • Conduct site surveys.
  • Assistance with startups:
  • Analyze the operation of equipment at the end of the projects;
  • Assist project managers with certain tasks related to optimization and control;
  • Respond to service calls.

Your profile

  • At least 3 years of experience in the operation of HVAC systems (good knowledge of plumbing, an asset);
  • Versatility, resourcefulness, ability to work in teams, rigor, proactivity, excellent organizational skills and ability to manage priorities;
  • Reading and interpretation of plans and specifications;
  • Desire to progress and develop skills in a growing organization;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office;
  • A valid driver's license in Ontario due to frequent travel in the GTA area;
  • On site Health and Safety certification (an asset).
