The Business Development Manager will be responsible for managing leases and related work with the tenants as well as oversight of the contract with the Property Manager at the Community Health Centre (CHC) at the Covenant wellness community (CWC) in Mill Woods.

This position will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building, and maintaining successful relationships with tenants, and managing leases and property management contracts to ensure that service level expectations are met.

The position will also work closely with Covenant staff providing services at CWC to ensure their service expectations are met.

This role requires a combination of marketing and strategic planning skills, along with a strong understanding of lease and property management principles and the interpersonal skills to collaborate with different stakeholders.

This position will have financial responsibilities including lease and parking revenues and payments to property manager and other expenses.

The position will ensure proper financial accountability and that financial statements, budgets, records, transactions, reports, and other documents are submitted and actioned on time.

This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications:

BSc/BA in Business Administration, Sales, or relevant field. Minimum of 5 years experience in a business development in a health care environment.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive, or in a relevant role.

Ability to effectively communicate, using tact and diplomacy to all internal and external stakeholders on a broad range of technical and business issues.

Proven group facilitation, presentation, oral and written communication skills. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners to deliver on business needs. Solid business acumen with ability to think strategically. Solid team leadership and business partnering track record. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Experience in negotiating and managing leases. Proven sales track record. Proficiency in MS Suite. Proficiency in English. Market knowledge. Communication and negotiation skills. Ability to build rapport, time management, and planning skills. Must be an engaging public speaker and presenter.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters in related area preferred e.g., Masters of Business Administration (MBA). Experience in project management and leadership. Experience in customer support. Experience interpreting financial information and statements. Ability to evaluate and provide recommendations on business proposals. Specialized knowledge of contracts, accounting, tax and legal framework relating to lease and property management.
