The Social Worker specializing in Employment Based Program will provide single session therapy, counseling, and lead group sessions to boost the social and emotional growth of youth and their support systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills in assessment and treatment, along with a dedication to member-centric service focusing on strengths. Experience in mental health, familiarity with substance use, transitional housing, LGBTQ2 matters, and delivering evidence-based practices like Motivational Interviewing, Narrative, Brief Solution Focused, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy are valuable assets. These interventions aim to enhance development, functioning, and resilience in the workplace, home, and community.

Operating within an integrated service framework, you will exhibit the necessary competencies to deliver services effectively across various programs within the organization.

In this role, you will:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with staff at all levels in the Employment and Community department.
  • Deliver expert assessments and treatment services to youth.
  • Create, implement, and assess tailored treatment plans based on individual member requirements.
  • Engage in self-reflection and continuously evaluate the effectiveness of strategies.
  • Collaborate with other professionals and community resources for efficient service provision.
  • Offer case management support.
  • Conduct group sessions when necessary.
  • Maintain detailed case records and information in a timely manner to ensure accessibility for all members.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, respecting role boundaries.
  • Promote anti-oppressive and anti-racism principles in member interactions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency or understanding of the current Child and Youth Family Services Act (CYFSA), which would be advantageous.
  • Participate in program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Undertake other assigned duties.

You bring:

  • University degree in Social Work or Psychology, or equivalent experience, with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Active membership in the Ontario College of Social Worker and Social Service Workers or the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario.
  • Solid grasp of trauma-informed counseling and issues related to human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
  • Familiarity with harm reduction principles.
  • Capability to manage a flexible work schedule, including evenings as needed.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle for commuting between locations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building abilities, showcasing rapport establishment and effective communication with members, staff, and volunteers.
  • Thorough understanding of diversity, inclusion, and equity, including identification and resolution of barriers, efficient collaboration with diverse stakeholders, and integration of equity into program development.
