About Us:


The Communications & Marketing Team within the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry (School) has a mission to protect, promote, and enhance the reputation of the School locally, nationally, and internationally.

This is achieved through the development of strategic communications plans; the development, production, implementation and management of print and online publications, and communications vehicles; social media; strategic marketing and branding; events and promotional activities; media relations; and the implementation of key strategies which engage students, faculty, staff, alumni, and donors.


Responsibilities:


The Digital Experience Coordinator will serve as a member of the Schulich Medicine & Dentistry Communications & Marketing team, with responsibility for planning, coordinating, developing, and executing various web-based communication efforts and digital activities.

The role will conceptualize and produce creative web solutions to enhance user experience, and provide guidance regarding market research, information architecture, web project management, data analytics, usability, and web design.

The role will ensure appealing and impactful designs are developed that fit with each portfolio's goals, and with the Schulich Medicine & Dentistry's marketing and branding strategies and guidelines.

The Digital Experience Coordinator will also have responsibility for annually increasing the number of visitors to the School websites, and engaging an increased number of individuals with digital communications.


Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Undergraduate University Degree in Media Studies, Computer Science or related fields
  • Courses completed in digital content creation and management and/or graphic design
  • Postgraduate certificate in website design and/or development is preferred
  • Experience:
  • Three years' experience working in a communications and marketing role, including web design and working with digital methods, techniques and tools
  • Experience with AODA compliance
  • Experience with various Content Management Systems
  • Experience working in an academic and/or health care environment is preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and proven writing and editing skills to create both marketing copy and news/features in journalistic style
  • Excellent time management skills with an ability to prioritize and consistently produce highquality work within deadlines
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment, with competing priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading abilities with the ability to take direction and implement changes
  • Advanced computer skills with a working knowledge of webbased content management systems, Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, file management and transfer systems
  • Ability to establish and build healthy working relations and partnerships with clients, peers, and internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
  • Ability to understand customer needs and expectations and provide excellent customer service directly and indirectly to satisfy expectations
  • Proven ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize with an eye to consistently producing highquality work and meeting deadlines in a demanding environment
  • Expertise with website Information Architecture and User Experience
