Position Title:
Custodian**What the typical day looks like for the Custodian:
  • Clean and maintain the interior and exterior of all locations;
  • Vacuum carpets and rugs, sweep and mop floors and stairwells;
  • Wash windows, walls, desks and ceilings to ensure a clean office and plant environment;
  • Establish and maintain a cleaning schedule;
  • Clean and disinfect washrooms, lunchrooms, ensure supplies in the washroom are full and maintain an inventory of cleaning products and washroom supplies;
  • Operate and maintain the floor scrubber and carpet cleaner/vacuums;
  • Perform general property maintenance on the exterior of the building, ensure walkways are clear of debris;
  • Follow safe operating procedures, wear all required protective gear and adhere to all policies and procedures (health & safety, WHMIS).

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for cleaning at multiple locations in Orillia;
  • Must be flexible to travel to multiple locations in Orillia;
  • Adherence to all Health & Safety, Fire Emergency, and Polyethics Policies and Procedures;
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Must be highly motivated, well organized, teamoriented individual with a minimum of two years' experience in general cleaning and attention to detail;
  • Must have own transportation;
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent experience;
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds using lift trucks/carts in a production location.
