Summary of Position:

Co-op Community Relations Specialist serve as a critical conduit between Tamwood and partners to negotiate partner agreements and manage relations.

Assist and facilitate students with their job search and match them with current and potential Tamwood's partners and contacts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish formal partnership agreements between Tamwood and local businesses.
  • Initiate, plan and coordinate visits/meetings with prospective and current partners, leveraging Tamwood assets and contacts.
  • Develop and update Tamwood's partnership strategy and plan to align with the year strategic plan and annual operational work plans.
  • Carry out autonomous outreach and cold calling as appropriate.
  • Work with the Students Services Team to match Coop students to appropriate jobs based on students' experiences and skills.
  • Arrange industry guest speakers monthly for Tamwood Careers programs.
  • Arrange in school hiring fairs for students and help coordinate student participation in external hiring fairs.
  • Arrange networking events/activities for Careers students.
  • Respond to students' requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Promote harmonious and productive working relationships as a member of the Coop team, supporting colleagues in meeting our collective goals and targets.
  • Engage in ongoing learning and development on new and emerging trends in organization partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders within Tamwood member organisations.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills, and comfortable with public speaking.
  • Project planning, management, problemsolving and multitasking.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as database management, analysis and report generation.
  • A selfstarter, able to work with mínimal supervision, as well as a strong team player committed to the mission and values of Tamwood.
  • Familiarity and experience with Canadian organizations.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and with discretion.
  • Outstanding work ethic, cultural sensitivity, and ability to work under stress.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with demonstrated success, and education degree in field is an advantage.
