Mairet Hotels is led by seasoned hospitality experts and we are seeking an experienced Human Resource specialist to compliment our Executive team.


The Director, People Resources is responsible for the management and administration of Human Resource services for all properties in the Mairet Hotels portfolio.

This role reports to the VP of Operations - Mairet Hotels, and works closely with Hotel General Managers.

  • Primary point of contact for all HR matters
  • Coordinate recruitment activities, including job postings, initial screening interviews, extending offers and onboarding and orientations; working collaboratively with hiring mangers through the process
  • Work with hiring managers to create/update job descriptions
  • Assist with Brand training & development
  • Support and advise managers on HR best practices, BC Employment Standards, conflict resolution, performance management and more
  • Manage benefit program
  • Manage WorkSafe BC claims
  • Assist with Occupational Health & Safety, assuring departments are compliant
  • Maintain, analyze and share HR metrics
  • Establish strong relationships with managers and team members
  • Assist with policy development and updates
  • Collaboratively work with managers to create a positive, safe, and diverse workplace culture
  • Assist in planning and carrying out team events
  • Any other general duties or tasks as required

What You Bring:

  • Minimum 5 years in HR Management
  • Experience leading high performance teams
  • Degree or diploma in related field; or equivalent (preferred)
  • Ability to work well both collaboratively and independently
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, and time management skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel
  • Previous hospitality experience (asset)
