Members of JANA's Product Team, under the direction of the VP of Product and in heavy collaboration with JANA's Market Managers, own JANA's sustainability.
The Associate Product Manager is responsible for translating the requirements and high-level use cases into detailed descriptions of specifically what needs to be built, and work with developers to ensure they understand the requirements.
As we work in two-week sprints, this person needs to make sure we have the use cases ready for each sprint and be ready to help answer and clarify the requirements, as well as confirming that development has met the requirements for each sprint.
They help coordinate with delivery teams to train them on new features and understand challenged they are facing. They are also responsible for developing key product documentation such as user guides and release notes. They understands the minutia of the product and the day-to-day execution requirements.Responsibilities:
- Understands the Jobs to Be Done theory and uses it to understand JANA's clients' needs better than what the clients understand it themselves
- Detailed Solution Definition and User Story Writing
- Working with designers on UX design
- Works closely with Delivery Teams
- Understands impact of timelines, answers questions and assist with client impact review
- Working with others, does sprint planning, including goals setting, prioritizing and ensuring requirements are understood.
- Facilitates and participate in scrum meetings
- Brings a customercentric view to the curation and prioritization of product features
- Validates user stories are design and implementation as intended
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of all training materials, release notes, and installation documentation
- Assesses with process improvements
- Undergraduate degree in Business or a STEM field
- 2+ years in a Technology organization
- Some knowledge of the Jobs to Be Done theory
- Excellent technical writing and presentation skills
- Proven experience in the Product field
- Experience in facing clients and understanding their needs
- Knowledge of various software development lifecycles especially Agile / Scrum
- Must be able to travel in the US and Canada up to 20% of the time
