About the opportunity
As an integral part of the "we can do that" operation, this position is responsible is responsible to to maintain high profitability of the operation, while supervising and leading aspects of the systems

Specifically:
- ensure profitability of the parts operation; generate revenue through retail, internal and wholesale sales of vehicle parts
- establish department objectives and pursue them through planning, organizing, controlling and measuring performance
- provide leadership, guidance and feedback to help staff members strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas
- develop and implement strategic plans for optimized sales
- review and improve operational effectiveness by developing processes, overseeing departments and employees, establishing a highly motivated work environment, and creating innovative approaches for improvement
- develop, implement and maintain standard operating procedures and key performance goals
- with the General Manager, prepare and manage the departmental budget
- monitor the flow of work in the parts department and intervene as required to ensure work is completed
- work with the Service and Sales departments to maximize cross marketing opportunities
- monitor current customer base and recommend strategies to attain more clients and ensure optimal level of customer satisfaction
- order parts that meet the cost and quality standards of the automotive parts department, dealership, and vehicle manufacturers; source new suppliers that are cost effective and have quality parts
- plan promotions on parts; design various merchandising strategies and monitor inventory of all physical parts and oversee all return processes for parts
- manage processing and administration of parts back-orders and return-to-vendor items
- perform inventory adjustments in the dealership management system
- manage inventory levels and inventory cycle counts; leverage the inventory control systems to record and track auto part sales and auto repair work
- review departmental activity and daily operating report with Management Tean
- lead the ongoing management, training and development of sales staff
- recruit, onboard, and train high-performing employees to achieve sales, profitability, market share, and business plan objectives

About you

  • 3 to 5 years proven experience as a Dealership PartsManager
- proficiency working with ERP systems (ie. CDK/Reynolds)
- proficiency working with inventory systems

  • 3 years experience developing and managing performance of a Team of staff
- strong business accumen

  • Valid Driver's Licence in good standing
- ability to adapt to a changing environment and meet deadlines
- ability to communicate professionally (verbally and written)
- strong attention to detail, organized and strategic
- ability to maintain professionalism
- ability to work independently and with mínimal supervision
- self-motivated and driven with a passion for excellence in execution
