THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently hiring for the role of Mechanical Engineer and Designer in our Calgary Office. The successful candidate will gain excellent experience in packaging equipment for the oil and gas industry and multi-disciplinary knowledge in rotating equipment (engines, compressors, generators) pressure vessels, piping, instrumentation, electrical.
RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY TASKS
Become the lead project engineer and designer of our KL8 Instrument Air and Power Generation Unit. This will entail current product design refinement and optimization, cost reduction, and quality improvement touching and affecting all aspects of unit design and production.
Other custom project design, engineering and project management of a variety of natural gas compression projections, from new construction of vapour recovery units (VRU's) as well as retrofit and reconditioning of pre-existing equipment.
Specific skills, tasks and responsibilities are:
· 3D Model generation, BOM, and associated fabrication drawings.
· Direct customer service and management.
· Managing all project and proposal communications, issues, and changes.
· Developing and improving work flows and processes.
· Shop construction, supervision and execution support
· Proposal preparations, job estimating, and cost control
QUALIFICATIONS
0 to 3 years' experience as a design or project engineering in oil/gas equipment fabrication.
The ideal candidate will have 3D modelling design experience with a desire to take project engineering and management responsibilities. Or conversely, have project engineering and management experience with a desire to take on detailed 3D modelling design work.
Strong consideration will be given to a recent graduate with a natural aptitude and interest in mechanical systems.
Must be a self-starter with the desire and ability to perform successfully with limited supervision.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Must have a vehicle for travel once or twice a week for various business purposes (with reimbursement)
