  • Have a degree or diploma in human services from an accredited college or university (or completed first year).
  • Prior employment or volunteer experience with people with disabilities
  • Effective in working collaboratively within a team and independently with mínimal direction as circumstances dictate
  • Effective communication skills verbal and written with all (service providers, family members, clients, colleagues, management etc.)
  • Ability to accept, and provide feedback to others
  • Proven experience in effective problem solving skills
  • Effective time management/prioritization/organization skills
  • Availability to work weekends, evenings and overnight shifts (some positions may require work on some stat holidays)
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, which may include personal care and client handling in some circumstances
  • Preferred experience will include:
  • Previous experience in rehabilitation; the delivery of personal care to persons with disabilities; with direct support in a community based setting; with direct support for people with ABI
  • Valid Class G Driver's License with a clear driving record
  • Valid and current certification in First Aid and CPR
  • Valid and current Certification in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI)
