Manager, Vlt Applications

In this role, we are looking for someone who will:
- Recommend, oversee and implement IT strategies within the division to meet corporate goals and stakeholder requirements.
- Maintain current knowledge of related technological advancements and provide technical expertise in evaluating new technology trends and requirements.
- Manage, direct, motivate and develop employees to achieve corporate objectives.
- Recommend and monitor operational and capital budgets.
- Implement and manage organization policies related to information technology and technology services.
- Provide support and advice to other departments regarding the development, implementation and maintenance of their respective IT requirements.
- Review quality of services and address operational /customer/stakeholder issues and concerns.
- Liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to review technology requirements and initiatives and address operational and strategic concerns.
- Develop, manage and maintain relationships and work requirements with third party vendors and other areas of the division, including contract and agreement negotiations.
- Special projects as required.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone.
- Who possesses a postsecondary education in an IT related discipline, or related experience.
- Has worked a minimum 5 years in an Information Technology environment.
- With a broad range of knowledge/experience in various technology platforms.
- Who demonstrates excellent organizational, presentation and communication skills.
- Who has previous experience leading IT teams.
- Experienced managing and delivering largescale technology projects.
- Who has experience in automating system patching, hardening, and general cybersecurity practices.
- Knowledgeable of current programming languages, development tools and database management including SQL, DB2,.NET, C#, Bash, cron.
- Has previous experience in database management and backup strategies; using technologies such as Avamar, AWS data lakes and AWS S
- Possesses knowledge of CRM's and varieties of helpdesk and asset management systems is an asset.
- Has knowledge of 0365 administration, Ring Policies, Intune and any VDI experience is an asset.
- Has knowledge of distributed retail networks, terminals devices, and network standards
- Has knowledge of enterprise level computing platforms and storage solutions as well as commonly deployed commercial information technology solutions (e.g. Microsoft Exchange etc.)
- Has worked with Linux/Microsoft Windows Server platforms.
Who we are
WCLC's VLT division is contracted by LGS (Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan) to manage and operate VLTs in Saskatchewan.
The VLT division operates 4,200 VLTs across the province, and WCLC provides training, installation, and maintenance of the VLTs, as well as a central operating system.
WCLC is the non-profit organization authorized to manage, conduct, and operate lottery and gaming-related activities at retail and online for the governments of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba as well as The Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.
We work closely with our governmental partners to bring a first-rate lottery experience to our players and meet their changing needs with new technology and tools.
