Waste Control Service (WCS) is a private, locally owned, and operated recycling and waste management company offering solutions for sustainable management of all things waste.

We offer collection services and consultation for both residential communities as well as commercial, industrial, and institutional organizations exclusively in the Greater Vancouver region.

We have a head office and shop in Coquitlam B.C.

and two recycling yards in North Vancouver where we primary process some of the recycling we regularly collect from our customers, which also operates as a recycling and secure shredding facility open to the community.


Who we are looking for:


Our team is growing, and we are seeking an individual passionate about the environment to work out of our Coquitlam facility.

The position will look after maintenance and repairs of our compactors, bailers, and bins. This position will report to our operations department.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs service calls for compactors, bailers, and bin repairs.
  • Inspect and repair compactors & containers to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Preforms preventative maintenance inspections, diagnostic and repair of electrical and hydraulic systems on compactors.
  • Conducts safety checks on compactors and bins.
  • Clean equipment as required.
  • Ensure authorization of repairs and that they are fixed correctly.
  • Ability to perform very physically demanding job (pushing and pulling hundreds of pound bins 6080 times/daily).
  • Other duties as assigned.

To be Successful:

  • Class 5 License.
  • Ability to travel customer sites throughout the Lower Mainland.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and willing to learn welding.
  • Strong knowledge of Metro Vancouver roadways a definite asset.
  • Two years of experience in the waste management industry is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment, while maintaining a positive and respectful work atmosphere with the other employees and customers.
  • Ability to work until the job is finished.
