Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a

Associate Supply Chain Specialist.


At the core of the supply chain strategy team, this role provides fundamental and cornerstone strategies to enable supply chain functions to conduct operational work.

Role organizes and seeks inputs and feedback across 15+ departments to support supply chain strategy deployment. The role helps create value at each step throughout the Supply Chain's value chain.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Academically qualified with a recognized university bachelor's degree in relevant field is preferred
  • Procurement/Supply Chain accreditation: SCMP, MCIPS or ISM would be considered an asset
  • Project Management experience/accreditation: PMP would be considered an asset
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills

Experience:

  • 13 Years or more experience in a procurement, supply chain, project management, engineering or other relevant function
  • Defence experience with a proven commercial or legal skillset would be considered an asset
  • All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)._

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program wide stakeholder engagement to identify requirements
  • Support to strategic planning and deployment of Supplier Qualification (RFI), tender process, RFI, RFP, RFP with vendors, Tender evaluations, Contract negotiation and to agree robust commercial agreements for ISI and the client. Communications to industry on all contract steps is also a key strategic deployment for this position.
  • Assist with Supply Chain Strategy deployment:
  • Develop and improve supply chain quality, cost, and delivery performance
  • Attend integrated stakeholder sessions representing supply chain priorities
  • Participate in pre scope kick off meetings with key stakeholders
  • Assist with key supply chain projects
  • Participation in performance reviews with procurement
  • Maintain risk log and hold biweekly meetings with procurement team Develop key strategies such as supply chain management plan, implementation proposals, cost estimates, warehousing strategy and other key components of supply chain plans
