The University Advancement division plays a leading role in strengthening awareness of and support for the University's mission and goals by leading alumni relations and fundraising efforts across campus and beyond.

All departments within the Division build enduring alumni and public trust through understanding and support for Western University in a coordinated campus-wide effort that results in the engagement and funding needed to make an impact.

There are 3 departments within the Division - Departments of Development, Alumni Relations and Advancement Operations.

Responsibilities:


The Alumni Engagement Associate, Work Integrated Learning (WIL) will support the full scope of engagement activities within their portfolio relating to the outreach and recruitment of alumni prospects who have the capacity to contribute (directly or indirectly) to the development of WIL opportunities (e.g.

internship/co-op, practicum and courses with an industry project and/or mico-placement) for students of the University on an annual basis. The role will support and work collaboratively on innovative engagement strategies that focus on WIL.

The role will promote the value of WIL opportunities, and collaborate to establish goals for WIL and to identify methods for assessment and reporting on outcomes.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Graduate from Western University in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related discipline preferred

Experience:

  • 2 years of related experience, preferably in fundraising, employment or recruitment industry, sales, corporate recruiting of university students, and/or human resources
  • Fundraising environment or employment or recruitment industry is preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of best practices for engaging stakeholders and developing relationships
  • Familiarity with best practices in records maintenance and databases
  • Strong knowledge of corporate recruiting, and knowledge of Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE) standards and guidelines for ethical recruitment preferred
  • Crosscultural competency with an ability to interact and work effectively with people from different cultures and backgrounds
  • Ability to establish effective routines for excellent communication to maximize productivity
  • Selfdriven, critical thinker who is highly skilled at anticipating and resolving stakeholder relation issues
  • Detailoriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
  • Ability to remain highly motivated, resilient, innovative, and collaborative when faced with challenges
  • Ability to work within a flexible schedule to accommodate the University's events and activities
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals
