The Opportunity

Our South Bow Operations group is currently seeking a skilled Electrical Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) Technician to join our Cypress West team based in Regina (Emerald Park), SK.

Reporting to the Maintenance Lead, Cypress West, this EIC Controls Technician will support the operation and maintenance of our liquid's pipelines and associated facilities throughout the surrounding area by troubleshooting, maintaining and operating liquids pump station control systems and other related facilities. This individual must be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision, who possesses strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.

The regular work schedule for this position will be:

  • Week 1 - Monday to Thursday 9 hours per day; Friday off
  • Week 2 - Monday to Thursday 9 hours per day; 8 hours on Friday

What you'll do

  • Ensure the safe and reliable completion of work activities including the supervision of contractors, issuing permits, perform lockout/tagout and safe work authorizations
  • Support multi-skilled maintenance requirements in the completion of pipeline and control system tasks
  • Plan coordinate and perform maintenance to include routine corrective and preventative maintenance, equipment and system improvements and major maintenance projects
  • Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain pumps, valves, and operators as well as other associated electrical, instrumentation, and controls equipment used in liquids facilities
  • Support on-call rotation, emergency response, and after hour requirements of the Keystone Terminal and Pipeline System
  • Complete work orders, enter data into job plans, create new work orders, etc. in BlueWorx and SAP
  • Proven excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Electrician certification
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience with electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and process work
  • Experience with the interpretation of technical reference documents

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with piping, motor operated valves, and operations
  • Thorough understanding of test equipment used to maintain control systems
  • Additional industry related certification and/or related trades experience
  • Competent using equipment applicable to the maintenance of control and measurement systems
  • Computerized Maintenance Management System experience preferably with SAP and BlueWorx

This position requires candidates to:

  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract for review
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing
  • Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings, or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home (estimated up 25% of work schedule)
  • Be part of an on-call rotation and provide emergency support as required
  • Be subject to hazardous conditions including adverse weather, heights, lifting, and cramped conditions
