Welcome Home

Southbridge, the owner and operator of several long-term care homes and retirement communities in Southwestern Ontario, is currently seeking a part-time, Admissions Coordinator to join their Long-Term Care home in Canada's prettiest town, Goderich, Ontario.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Admissions Coordinator provides admission support for residents and families within legislative and budgetary parameters.

Responsibilities:
  • Participates in resident admission process including tours, admission, transfers, discharge, and occupancy tracking.
  • Assists with rate reductions, reporting and government documents.
  • Assists residents and families with setup and removal of services.
  • Develops calendars and meeting schedules.
  • Acts as liaison with families and advocate for residents to ensure they are allowed and encouraged to exercise their rights.
  • Adheres to established policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, fire, occupational health and safety, environment and infection control.
  • Maintains internal records and prepares internal reports for facility as required; maintains confidentiality of all financial, personnel and resident data; maintains accounting records Handles payments from families and all queries concerning billings from residents and /or families.
  • Greets visitors, determines purpose of visit; directs visitors to proper location as appropriate; informs staff of visitor's arrival; presents a positive image of the facility to the public; monitors comings and goings of residents from facility.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
The ideal candidate:
  • Post secondary diploma in office or business administration (or comparable) preferred.
  • Office and organizational skills with a minimum of one year experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with office equipment including personal computers, Microsoft office.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety practices, principles and legislation
  • Ability to read and write English as well as to understand complex verbal and written instructions in English.
