Planning Specialist

Duration: 1 Year (Can be extended annually)

Hourly Rate: $75 - 95/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Leading or assisting in preparation of detailed work plans
  • Leading and monitoring compliance
  • Review scheduled work, review work that was completed and what was not and why to prepare regular reports
  • Review operational logs, maintaining awareness of new and ongoing issues, as well as the plan to resolve the issues.
  • Working with trades, project staff, radiation protection, operations and other support groups to resolve problems and issues related to planning and scheduling
  • Prioritizing tasks and deliverables according to defined timelines.
  • Identifying, addressing, troubleshooting and resolving moderately complex issues
  • Assisting in the preparation of Scopes of Work, and bid evaluations.
  • Preparing technical reports and researching tools, equipment and techniques used in Decommissioning and Environmental Remediation.
  • Complying with safety and quality assurance standards and troubleshooting when issues arise
  • Ensuring the safety and compliance of people on the site.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Planning experience,
  • Working knowledge and ability to apply the applicable codes associated with Decommissioning a nuclear site and buildings.
  • Understanding of the CNSC regulations.
  • Knowledge and application of radiation protection principles, measurements and contamination control.
  • Working knowledge of Waste Management principles and volume reduction methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of the document process including project documents and engineering documents.
  • Supervisory, team building and communication skills.
  • Security clearance eligibility required
