The Respiratory Therapist 1 contributes to and ensures the delivery of respiratory therapy services through participation in the diagnosis, treatment and clinical investigation of clients with respiratory disease and medically related disorders. These services are provided to inpatients, ambulatory/outpatient and emergency room patients. Eligible candidates will be entitled to HealthPEI Allied Health Services Incentives of up to $10k upon successful hiring. Maintaining mechanical ventilation and client transport duties;
Providing various other tests and diagnostic procedures related to respiratory therapy;
Maintaining technical support for respiratory equipment;
Applicants must have a baccalaureate degree with a designation in Respiratory Therapy or diploma in Respiratory Therapy preferably with experience in an acute care setting.
Respiratory Therapy experience in ICU and Neo-Natal care would be considered assets.
Applicants must be licensed or eligible for licensing with the College of Allied Health Professionals of Prince Edward Island.
Demonstrated skills in program planning and excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.
