As an essential part of the Executive Team, you will work closely with our SVP Product and Merchandising and senior leadership across the organization to assist in growing our vision, and executing the successful progression of Kotn’s supply chain. The ideal candidate for this role is strategic, methodical, data driven and has broad Canadian retail and merchandising expertise and will be responsible for developing and executing strategic business plans and contributing to the development of the product assortment planning, pricing and margin strategies. You will manage and grow current teams in Planning, Merchandising & Buying and work efficiently & effectively to establish additional supply chain functions. What you’ll be working on: Product Strategy (30%) Act as the voice of the consumer to establish and drive product strategy on current and future Kotn products Create category and product strategy plans, advocate for the strategy across the organizationIdentify key opportunity growth areas, strategies to drive incremental sales and enhanced financial performanceResearch and track relevant competition and monitor the Kotn positioning in various marketsReview seasonal pricing matrix and maintain price positioning in line with Kotn’s vision and strategy Interpret market needs and trends specific to the Kotn customer. Understands the essence of the KOTN brand and target consumerSet, communicate and drive product strategy for Kotn in close collaboration with other functionsRevisit and adjust strategy when necessary while staying agile, with both a proactive and reactive approachMerchandising & Buying (40%) Manage the Merchandising team and lead product strategy for Kotn, reporting and interpreting sales performance across the businessDevelop and execute merchandise plans and buying strategies to achieve corporate goals for Kotn Leverage on key products and key categories to drive both sales and margins. Ensure that the business builds on past successes Build product category and SKU plans, using historical data to define the breadth and depth of product categories, and positioning of products to support the brand strategies Assort merchandise groupings, and determine required width and depth to meet sales targets while keeping healthy stock levels Work closely with the Design and Creative team throughout the merchandising and buying process to ensure the collection has the optimal balance between product strategy and commercial goals Work closely with Sourcing and Production teams for product delivery and IMU targets to meet financial budgets.Review weekly sales performance, WOS and propose markdowns or promotions to manage inventory to planned levels. Work closely with other functions and build bridges of communication with teams such as Design, Creative, Marketing, and Operations. Plan and communicate product launches in full synergy with Marketing, Consumer Channel, and all other concerned functions. Lead, support, motivate, and mentor a large team of strategic, operational, and analytical talent. Planning (20%)Act as the creator and driver of a "5-year plan". Coordinate with all functions to make sure the business remains on track to meet and exceed targets Oversee planning and management of inventory through monthly OTB’s, flow of core product availability, allocation and replenishment in sales channels Enhance existing inventory models to improve forecast accuracy and inventory turnover. Develop business models that would provide the needed analytics to support small- to large-scale strategic decisions Collaborate closely with the Finance, Operations, Growth, and Retail teams to strategize, develop, and manage robust inventory and working capital plans that support our pre-season and in-season activities and longer-term strategic objectives for all business units Routinely forecast and recommend improvements to inventory flow to meet annual inventory turnover targets, improve cash flow, optimize sales and sell-through, and maximize margins Keep close control of demand forecasts and make sure that OTB projections are aligned, routinely reviewing OTC consumption and remaining balance Make sure that Buyers generate purchase orders down to the SKU level with incredible precision and accuracy.
