Outside Technical Sales Representatives are responsible for developing relationships with customers and growing accounts in their assigned territory through the promotion and selling of the company’s products to multiple industries including; oil and gas, water and wastewater, pulp and paper, mining, biogas and other industrial and commercial business segments to name a few. Outside Technical Sales Representatives are vital members of the dynamic sales group here at Carbon Controls Ltd, whose foundation is anchored on teamwork, integrity, accountability and enthusiasm.

Duties

  • Routine sales travel to visit new and existing customers and attend relevant trade shows.
  • Identify and properly qualify new business opportunities using available resources.
  • Provide customer support by responding to customer inquiries and requests.
  • Help customers to select the correct equipment, assist in design decisions and technically support all products sold by Carbon Controls for order and quotation purposes.
  • Work directly with our represented manufacturers to obtain technical information, project pricing and special requirements.
  • Ensure the databases and ERP system are current and updated with accurate client information.

Qualifications

  • Technical education and background in Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation preferred.
  • Sales experience with VFDs, MCC, Fire & Gas Detection, Alarm and Signaling Devices and Flow/Level/Pressure/Temperature Instrumentation preferred. (Training is provided).
  • Outgoing, can multi-task, self motivated, professional and organized.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical skills: able to present technical concepts; provide customers with hands-on technique using our products.
  • Good computer skills, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
