Job descriptionEnerMech is hiring for a long term project in British Columbia, Canada. We are hiring Valve Technicians or a Supervisor to join our team. We hire all candidates direct to EnerMech, must be eligible to work in Canada. This is an on-rotation job, at camp in Kitimat.Main Responsibilities:· Be able to undertake Mechanical trades based work I.E. Vertical and Horizontal Boring, Turning, Lapping, Grinding and general maintenance fitting and assembling activities.· Undertake field and workshop based Mechanical activities.· Undertake diagnosis and repairs on reduction drive gearboxes and Actuation systems.· Undertake Maintenance and testing activities of Process Relief, Pilot Operated Safety valves, Thermal relief valves, Vacuum Relief valves.· Undertake on-site online testing of Safety Relief Devices using the Proven Test units.· Undertake Maintenance and Injection of Mechanical Isolation valves such as Ball, Gate, Plug, Metering, and other valves that have injection and lubrication provision that may require emergency or routine maintenance in terms of lubrication or other mechanical requirements, strip down rebuild and testing.· Undertake onsite machining, i.e. Boring, Milling internal valve Seat and Flange machining.· Reading piping and general isometric and schematic drawings.· Provide field calibration analysis to Control valves.· Manufacture from samples adaptors to suit Ball, Gate, and Globe and Plug valves, be conversant with machining disciplines and measuring devices such as inside outside Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Dial Gauges etc.· Use hydraulic or pneumatic bolting equipment, injection equipment.· Be fully conversant with Rotary and Linear Electric and Pneumatic Actuators and Positioners; be able to undertake routine maintenance and setting of actuation packages to mechanical and linear Control valves.· Be prepared to undertake any other Mechanical based Maintenance activities that may be required on site provided they fall within employees skill set and qualifications.· Be prepared to travel and be accommodated at any location anywhere worldwide onshore &/or offshore operational facilities.· Have computer skills, able to detail reports, emails, using Microsoft Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, as minimum, works may entail inputting information into Client based Data Base Systems.· Be capable and familiar with Hydrostatic and Pneumatic test procedures and standards associated with valves and piping systems.· Be capable of undertaking all work activities in a professional, customer-focused manner.· Manage personnel on shutdowns or projects.· Provide full project management.· Training of apprentices.· Operation of all PPU equipment.· Prepare and manage work packs.Due to the nature of the work, the employee must be able to meet the following requirements:· To work in isolated environments· To be respectful of other contractors working within a close environment· To be prepared to travel by car, aircraft, and helicopters in remote areas.· To be prepared to work in harsh climatic environments involving extremes of Heat, Dust and/or Cold.· To be prepared to work at heights, in confined spaces, with minimal direct supervision, from scaffolding or platforms, from vehicles, using high pressure equipment, containing compressed gases, crude oil, or other hydrocarbon or process mediums, plant air or reciprocating equipment such as Gas, Steam, Water Turbines, Pump sets, Compressors, Boilers, etc.· Be capable of working within a workshop environment.· Be capable of operating engineering, manufacturing, or maintenance equipment such as lathes, milling machines, drills, presses, borers, testing equipment using high pressure gases or other equipment required to undertake standard engineering trade disciplines.EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGEEssential· Trade qualifications in the mechanical engineering discipline.· Sound knowledge of Hydrostatic / Gas testing of valves and piping systems.· Sound knowledge of repairing, maintaining and testing mechanical and pressure safety valves or similarly related equipment.· Sound knowledge of Electric, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Actuators and systems.· Removal, Installation of Pressure Safety valves.· Injection sealing and injection of lubricants and sealants by approved methods.· Ability to understand design, operation standards of Mechanical and Pressure Safety valves. I.E. Applicable standards - API, ASME, NACE.· Sound knowledge of machining and basic understanding of welding.· Sound knowledge of workmanship in mechanical fitting and machining.· Basic understanding of materials and their applications.· Sound knowledge of flange machining.· Sound knowledge of bolt tensioning.· Onsite live testing of valves using EnerMech systems.· Ability to convert all pressure / temperature units of measurement.· Proven experience to manage shutdowns and personnel.· Use of Bolt tensioning equipment.· Use of Site machining equipment.· Ability to use project management software.· Ability to use all EnerMech software systems.Preferred· Competent communication skills through all media i.e. e-mail, phone, fax etc.· Competent computing skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.· Good understanding ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements.· Good understanding of calibration systems.
