Civil Construction Estimator

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our construction projects from the ground up. Duties Develop comprehensive construction cost estimates by reviewing project plans, specifications, and drawings using estimating software. Analyze bid documents, contracts, and scope of work to accurately determine material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams through negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms. Prepare detailed bid proposals that clearly outline project costs, timelines, and assumptions while ensuring compliance with client requirements. Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground insights related to project scope, logistics, and potential challenges. Assist in the development of project budgets and monitor ongoing costs throughout the construction process for effective cost control. Review and interpret contracts, change orders, and scope modifications to update estimates accordingly. Support dispatcher by providing accurate cost data for scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management. Utilize construction estimating tools like efficiently to streamline the estimation process. Engage in continuous learning of industry standards, new materials, technologies, and best practices in construction estimation. Experience Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of the entire project lifecycle from bid preparation to project closeout. Demonstrated proficiency with estimating software. Solid knowledge of construction methods, materials, cost control strategies, and pricing techniques. Experience working on large-scale commercial or heavy civil projects is advantageous. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams. Familiarity with construction site operations and safety standards enhances your ability to produce realistic estimates aligned with on-the-ground realities. Background in construction management or related fields is desirable but not mandatory; relevant hands-on site experience is a plus.
